    Maryland– 100% Clean Electricity By 2040

    Maryland’s Clean and Renewable Energy Standard (CARES) sets the state on a path to being powered by 100% clean electricity, like solar, by 2040. A key element of the proposal includes increasing the strategic use of zero-and low-carbon clean and renewable energy sources.

    Solar projects may qualify

    To generate and sell renewable energy credits.
    For the Maryland Energy Administration’s Clean Energy Rebate Program.
    Participate in Maryland’s net metering program.
